CLUB CAREER

Nancy: 1972-79

Michel Platini started his Professional career at Nancy were he was able to rise the team into the First Division of the French league. He captained his club in 1978 to a French Cup victory in which Platini scored the winning goal beating OGC Nice 1-0.

Honours: French Division 2 Champion 1974-75, French Cup Winner: 1977-78

Saint-Étienne: 1979-82

He then joined, one of the biggest clubs in France at the time, Saint-Étienne. Like Nancy he became one of the star players for the team very quickly. A year after joining the club he helped win the French Division 1 in 1980. This is also the time were he defined himself as an elite European Playmaker who could score, create multiple chances and lead a team.

Juventus: 1982-87

This was Michel Platini’s prime career years. he played with legends of the game Paolo Rossi, Dino Zoff and Gaetano Scirea. He won three consecutive Ballons D’or, very few with this achievement. he won everything he could at Juventus with one of the strongest sides ever. He was the Italian top goal scorer three times in a row and the team winning the European Cup in 1985.

INTERNATIONAL CAREER

frANCE: 1976-87

He debuted for France in 1976 and soon became the captain. On their home soil in the 1984 Euros, Michel Platini produced one of the best tournament performances ever, scoring 9 goals in 5 matches, and ultimately winning France the 1984 Euros. He also contributed to a Semi Finals in the 1982 World Cup and third place in the 1986 World Cup.

kuwait: 1988

He only played 21 minutes against the Soviet Unions losing 2-0 though he came out of retirement for this game and also having the rare achievement of plating for multiple International teams.

Michel Platini’s career was one of the best career in history. He won 3 Ballons D’or, won something for every club he played for an his primary nation, France. He won European Competition for Juventus and the Euros for France. His style of play was magnificent, An attacking midfielder with the ability to score, to assist, control the game and lead the whole team.
